The “gold-tone” accents are more brown like copper and applied sloppily. See photos. Disappointed with that because i purchased it to display as a centerpiece on my dining room table as well as bake in, but overall i like the style and functionality of the dish. I saw it almost double the price elsewhere and am glad at least i did not overpay for the lower quality than expected as far as the trim. I purchased a 3” high footed wood tray to display it at a more appropriate centerpiece level. I got tired of expensive silk flower centerpieces that get dusty over time and decided this would be a pretty yet practical display that can be dusted and washed as needed. It was a toss up between a tureen display and this piece, went with this as it will definitely get more use than a fancy soup bowl. Overall i am satisfied with the price and overall look. Guests will likely be more interested In conversation and the entree than to notice the minor finish flaws.To small as seen on the pictureHear me out. We live in the Deep South, out in the country. Know what you'll find plenty of in every country kitchen? Casserole dishes. Well, casserole dishes, and Country Crock butter containers in the fridge, in place of Tupperware. Point is, we know casserole dishes, and we have plenty of them.Whether I'm making my always-expected carrot souffle for holiday dinners, or my wife makes her famous green bean casserole, we used to be content with the simple transparent glass dishes But we're big fans of this particular ceramic dish for two big reasons.1. It's decorative, and makes a statement when guests see it.2. It's got a lid, and oddly enough, most casserole dishes we come across don't.The funny thing is that even though you can use the lid for a few different recipes that involve the oven, I'm partly sold on it's function when you're not baking. A lid means we don't have to cover dishes in tin foil when we stick them in the ice box, or when we're bringing them from one home on our land to one of the other houses for a get-together. Keeps the food warm, but also lets friends and family see how elegant it looks. Guaranteed, people will ask where you found a casserole dish that looks this nice. I'm terrified to leave this over at my Mother in Law's kitchen, because I know she'd never let it go, she loves how it looks.So far I've used it for potatoes, my Wife made some lasagna in it. I love baking brownies in casserole dishes, although I wonder if it would look a bit too dignified for that lol. I snapped a picture of some homemade bread pudding that I made for guests, using leftover French bread. Everyone enjoyed the bread pudding, topped with my warm buttery rum caramel sauce. But they all commented on the dish as well, since they've never seen anything quite like it before. Just look at the pics and see for yourself, it really does make a statement.One thing's for sure, you don't even have to cook with it to use it. It's perfect just for presentation, for a variety of dishes. Holidays are just around the corner. Now I personally protest to local stores already putting Christmas stuff up in September (it's not even Halloween yet). But I will say, this is a must-have before Thanksgiving rolls around. Because you'll get plenty of compliments and questions about it. So definitely add this one to your shopping cart right now, and see for yourself how nice it is.This is a chonker of a pan. It's beautiful, I've had no issues with discoloration of the white, chips, or anything, but man is it heavy. Very difficult to wash (I always hand wash things like this), and it's tough to hold it with just one hand, while scrubbing with the other. Otherwise, I think it's a great pan and very presentable, especially if you want to impress friends or family!I have been wanting a covered dish like this for years. I love hosting and attending get-togethers and this is perfect for bringing to a potluck or a holiday party. Its easy to clean as it is dishwasher safe. I removed one star because the paint around the dish is inconsistent and takes away from the elegance of the dish. Overall, it functions perfectly but I wish the paint were more consistent.The Ceramic Casserole Dish with Lid is a heavy duty covered baking dish. It is deep enough for lasagna and sturdy enough for just about anything that will fit in it.The size is ample and the item has a hefty weight. It comes very well packed and holds up to rough daily use.I'm pleased with the performance of the item in the oven and have made a casserole with it so far.Overall, this is a heavy duty and attractive piece of cookware that will last a long time.Really great casserole dish.
