Exactly what was needed. I had noticed that my dad was leaving a small amount of butter sitting in a bowl on his table with no lid. This was the perfect solution. He has softened butter at his fingertips and it stays covered between uses. It holds a half stick of butter.I bought three; red, Brunswick green and marigold.What can you say? It's the perfect marigold butter dish like you remember. Made well, solid and heavy, and just what you expect. How many things can you say that about these days?I have two of these little butter dishes and I love their size and style etc. Three of my granddaughters who have seen them have commented out much they like them, so I have given them each one, too. Fun!This plain white ceramic butter dish is perfect. For most of the time, it's just my husband and me, which makes this half-stick butter holder just the right size for us. It has a nice handle to easily lift the cover, holds the perfect amount for the two of us for a couple of days, cleans beautifully in the dishwasher, and is ready for "fresh" butter for the next couple of days. Just right!!I wanted a small butter dish and this was exactly it, however, it doesn’t hold the small butter. It is slightly smaller than the small butter which makes things not so simple. But overall it was pretty much what I was looking forVery cute butter dish. I thought it would work for the short stubby butter sticks I buy from Costco and Trader Joe’s, but the dish is too small. Then I realized that butter is sized differently on the West Coast compared to other parts of the country. The butter sticks I buy are 4 oz short stubby butter sticks, and they are too big for this dish. I wish I could find a dish that fits the 4oz small butter sticks. This dish would be great for short skinny butter sticks.Kind of high priced as it only holds a half stick of "East coast" butter, meaning, the long skinny sticks not the "West coast" butter which is shorter and stubbier. (Land 'O Lakes sells 1/2 stick size butter). Anyway, I found it perfect for holding toothpicks.I am rating a ZERO!!!!Wouldn’t let me put pic. I received the first one broken and thought it was a fluke. Then received second one broken and they said they will only refund 20$ it cost me 35$ WTF? Awful!!!!!it might be the smallest butter dish on the planet but it is pretty sturdy and functional. not for a large familyWay too small , I sent it back and ordered the regular size.Very solid butter dish. Exactly as described. Love the colour as well.Utter dish to small and expensive
