These dishes address a problem with the Souper Cubes product line. A one-cup serving is not really satisfying if soup is the main part of a meal. But the corners of two-cup frozen soup blocks overlap most round soup bowls, so you can't just pop them into the microwave. These dishes are just the right shape to heat and eat. So why are they called baking dishes rather than soup bowls? A baking dish often needs a lid, and these don't have one. Perhaps it's because they're awfully expensive for soup bowls. Just wish that the handles were not stamped with the words “souper cubes”. It is unnecessary and makes an otherwise versatile and tasteful serving dish look tacky. Having the logo on the bottom of the dish would be sufficient.
